Start with the chore you repeat most
If your main problem is daily crumbs and dust, an auto-empty dock can be the useful upgrade. It transfers debris from the robot to a larger bag or container. It does not automatically mean the robot washes its mop, refills its water tank or dries a wet pad.
If you mop hard floors often, a washing station removes more of that repeated pad care. It also introduces clean-water and dirty-water tanks, a wash tray and more space requirements. Choose it because those chores matter in your home, rather than assuming the largest station is always better.
What different configurations change
The Q10 S5+ is the simpler dust-emptying route, with manual mop care. The original P10 Pro Ultra adds a washing and drying station. Saros 10R adds a different premium package with automatic mop detachment. Read each profile for the selected retailer SKU and limitations.
The ownership cost beyond the purchase
Budget for bags, filters, brushes and mop pads. Check current local availability of compatible replacements before choosing a model. Use only cleaning solutions approved by the maker; ordinary floor cleaner can create foam or damage components. Water-tank stations need timely emptying and cleaning even when their marketing describes long periods between dust-bag changes.
A practical choice
Write down which job you dislike: emptying a bin, washing pads, handling tanks or moving furniture. Then choose the least expensive configuration that meaningfully reduces that job. If you cannot place a station where its tanks are easy to remove, a smaller dock may be the better fit.
