AprilAire 410 vs 413 vs 213: start with cabinet fit
410 and 413 share a cabinet family; 213 fits a different one. Match the installed model before choosing a filtration rating or comparing replacement costs.

Cabinet first
Read the model on the installed cabinet and check its manual and rails. A nominal size alone does not establish fit.
Then compare 410 with 413
For a confirmed shared cabinet, compare MERV 11 with MERV 13 and your system’s permitted filter specification. 213 is a separate fit decision.

Why dimensions can mislead
AprilAire lists 410 and 413 at 16.52 × 29.38 × 4 inches actual size. FiltersFast prints 16 × 25 × 3.5 for 410 and 15.81 × 29.38 × 4.05 for 413. These sources disagree; we have not measured the media or resolved the discrepancy. Use the cabinet model, exact part and rail arrangement, rather than treating either measurement as a universal fit guarantee.
For 213, both sources list 20.6 × 26.63 × 4 inches actual size. Its MERV 13 label does not make it interchangeable with 413.
Does the higher MERV change the choice?
410 is rated MERV 11; 413 and 213 are MERV 13. For a shared compatible cabinet, a higher rating is one selection factor. Follow your system’s allowed filter specification and service guidance; these listings do not tell us the pressure drop in your installation. This comparison makes no measured airflow or health-outcome claim.

At these prices, 413 costs $2 more per replacement than 410: $2 a year at one change, or $4 at two. AprilAire recommends annual replacement; the retailer gives six to twelve months. These calculations illustrate both intervals, not predicted filter life. Follow the manual and actual filter condition.
Prices are the 23 October quantity-one purchase-panel snapshots. The 413 and 213 page titles show $72.99 while their purchase panels show $76.99; calculations use the panels. Shipping, tax, coupons, subscriptions and bulk discounts are excluded.
