Coway Airmega 150 vs 160: do the numbers justify an upgrade?
Different names do not always mean different core performance. Here, the manufacturer’s published numbers give a useful reason to slow down.
The short answer
Both US pages list 214 ft² at 4.8 ACH, 153 cfm smoke CADR and a 19.98–48.3 dB(A) noise range. The captured price is also the same: $189.99 each on 20 September 2026. These figures do not establish a performance advantage for the 160.

What else matches
Both pages list a 13.4 × 18.5 × 6.5 inch body, 12.1 lb weight and 35 W power consumption. The filter descriptions also include a washable pre-filter, deodorization stage and HEPA filter. This is a comparison of published claims, not a teardown or a matched laboratory test.
Matching headline numbers cannot prove that every component, control, finish or accessory is identical. It does mean that a higher model number is not enough evidence to promise stronger cleaning.
Check the differences that affect your order
Compare the exact color, seller, included filter pack, current delivered price and return conditions. If a listing advertises a feature that matters to you, locate it in the model-specific documentation rather than borrowing it from a family overview.
Before paying a premium, ask what concrete difference it buys. A preferred finish may be worth extra to you; that is a design preference, not a measured air-cleaning advantage.
Filter intervals are not one number
Both source pages specify six months for the deodorization filter and one year for the HEPA filter. A complete maintenance budget therefore needs the actual pack contents and current prices. The Home Briefing has not captured a compatible complete-set price for these two entries, so we leave that field empty rather than estimate it.
Actual replacement needs depend on conditions and the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not assume a reminder light directly measures every filter’s remaining performance.
Our decision rule
If both meet your room and placement needs, use verified purchase and ownership differences to decide. We would not pay more solely for an assumed CADR improvement because the published smoke figures are tied. If the room needs more clean-air delivery, compare a different output class instead.
